In June, researcher Horverak visited the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznan, Poland, and presented how the motivation method had been applied in the English subject. It was a positive and interested group that showed up for the presentation.

The school year 2017-2018, we carried out the motivation project in 14 groups in total at 6 different upper secondary schools in Aust- and Vest-Agder. Møglestu upper secondary school was the base for the project, as project leader Langeland works there. In some groups we focused on both life in general and on subjects, in other groups only on subjects. The project was carried out in the subjects Norwegian, English, Spanish and German. This was supported by the Norwegian Research Council and the Teacher Training Department at UiA. The project is included in the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s public health project: Healthpromoting Kindergartens and Schools (HBS), and will through this be further developed in adult learning centres and primary and lower secondary schools from the fall 2019 in Birkenes and Lillesand municipalities.
